Erika Shaker

Erika Shaker is Director of Education and Outreach at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Canada’s leading independent progressive think tank. Erika’s research focuses on the corporatization of education, but also includes standardization and authentic assessment, social justice and anti-racism education, child care, inequality and equity, privatization and commercialism, and inclusive classrooms. She edits the quarterly popular education journal “Our Schools /Our Selves,” and speaks and writes extensively on a variety of education-related topics.
