Kristen Hargis is a M.Ed. student at the University of Saskatchewan. She also earned her B.S.W. at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. During her time with SEPN, she helped design and implement a national survey, which sought to understand how sustainability education policies are developed and enacted, including examining their relationship to practice, in early education to grade 12 schools (EC-12) and post-secondary education (PSE) institutions. Her current research explores how sustainable consumption is taught by faculty at Canadian PSE institutions and whether or not there is a connection to policies. Currently, she is a teacher in high schools and junior high schools in Japan, focusing on integrating social and ecological justice education within this context.
